Web Design Warwick
Glorious Garden Rooms was established in December 2022 by husband-and-wife team, Nicola and Richard de Sousa. After 20 years in the building trade, the couple switched their focus to garden rooms after building their own house in Worcestershire, which features its own eco-friendly garden room built to the latest SIPs specifications.

About Glorious Garden Rooms

The company operates nationwide, with a focus on the M40 corridor, and employs a team of four plus sub-contractors. Glorious Garden Rooms offers a range of template designs, as well as bespoke creations, which their customers use as offices, gyms, relaxation spaces, play rooms and more.

Background

Nicola and Richard already had a website for their building firm and asked the same developer to quote for the new Glorious Garden Rooms website. However, the company’s approach wasn’t the right fit for their new venture and they decided to look elsewhere.

Nicola originally met Ian, Phil Revill’s predecessor at itseeze Warwick & Redditch, at a networking event. “I’d attended a course on ‘website wizardry’ during lockdown, which gave me some useful insights in some of the ‘must haves’ for the new site,” remembers Nicola.

“Meeting Ian, and later Phil, was a real breath of fresh air compared to our previous experience with web design companies. Ian listened to my requirements and understood what we were looking for from the beginning. He made me feel that anything was possible for the new site.”

Solution

At Nicola’s request, Ian first provided her and Richard with a site map and preview of the site’s marketing capabilities (an added extra to the standard itseeze web design service). Once this was approved, all Nicola and Richard had to do was provide the written content, imagery and a short video, that had already been produced to go on the Home page.

Glorious Garden Rooms had its own logo and branding in place, so the itseeze design team used this to inform the new website’s colour scheme and general look and feel. The team then selected a font for the site (Nunito Sans), which Nicola and Richard now use in all their marketing content.

On top of the standard design, the site features some added extras, such as a set of floating contact buttons that follow the viewer as they scroll down the screen, and automatic links to the site when a customer scans a QR code on the company’s business card. There are also built-in integrations with Google Ads, Calendly and Zoom. As a Max package customer, Nicola and Richard can benefit from a wide range of other third party integrations, if they’d like to add these in the future, such as Trustpilot, MailChimp and Eventbrite.

“We chose the Max package as it was perfect for our needs,” explains Nicola. “All the main pages and widgets were built for us and we now have the freedom to update the content, add more pages and upload blogs whenever we like. Many of the things we wanted, like social media buttons, booking forms for meetings, embedded video and live chat, come as standard with Max, so most of what we were looking for was included in the price.”

Process

Everything went smoothly with the site build and the new Glorious Garden Rooms site went live just a couple of months after Nicola’s initial meeting with Ian. As with any web development project, there were a couple of minor snags, but these were soon ironed out. One of these even ended up giving Nicola what she describes as a ‘lightbulb’ moment.

“One of the buttons on the site wasn’t working, so Phil videoed himself fixing the problem. This was brilliant as it showed me exactly how to fix any similar issues that might crop up in the future as well as giving me a really good insight into how the it’seeze Website Editor works. Ian had already given me a short tutorial, but Phil’s video gave me even more confidence in how to use it.”

Nicola and Richard were especially impressed by how straightforward it was for their vision for the new site to be brought to life. “We told Ian and Phil what we wanted, they listened and understood our needs – and it just happened! The whole process was very painless and we felt taken care of throughout. The customer service we received was excellent and we know Phil and the team will be on hand if we need any help going forward.”

Results

It’s early days for the new Glorious Garden Rooms website as it’s only recently gone live, so it’s hard to assess the site’s impact as yet. However, Nicola is keeping an eye on the site’s analytics and early indications are positive. She and Richard have also had some great feedback on the site from visitors, who especially like the video on the Home page.

“I’m delighted with the new Glorious Garden Rooms website,” concludes Nicola. “I know it will prove to be a great investment for our business and provide the right platform for new functions and features as we decide to add these. The it’seeze Warwick & Redditch team have done a great job and I’d be pleased to recommend them to other businesses in the Worcestershire area looking for a new or upgraded website.”
